New Delhi: As far as the Congress is concerned, Jaganmohan Reddy’s intentions are anything but honourable.
At a rally in Delhi today, where he’s on a hunger strike, Jagan Mohan was accompanied by 24 Congress leaders from Andhra Pradesh – 20 MLAs, two members of legislative councils, and two MPs.
Jagan quit the Congress last month after a 14-month long rebellion that began when his father, YSR Reddy, died in a helicopter crash, and this party did not pick Jagan to replace him.
Today’s public show of support by Congress leaders, Jagan says, is a precursor to a more formal bond. “I am a gentleman,” he said. “And I’m doing the Congress a favour by not asking my people to resign. If I wanted to, I could’ve done that a long time back. The government would’ve fallen. But my people are very clear that in 2014, they will contest not on a Congress ticket but on my party’s ticket.”
Jagan has announced that he is setting up his own party, named after his father, who was legendary in Andhra Pradesh for his popularity among voters.
Jagan’s fast today was officially to protest against what he describes as the “injustice” delivered to Andhra’s farmers by a recent verdict on the waters of the River Krishna. But the not-so-secret agenda was to taunt the Congress on its own turf by highlighting that Jagan is now a credible political opponent.
The Congress party reacted by stating that “our government is not under any threat.” That did not help save face. Especially as its flock voiced opinions far more freely than the party presumably prefers. Jai Sudha, a Congress MLA from Secundarabad, said, “YSR was my mentor. I’ve always been his follower and so it goes without saying that I will follow Jagan. I respect the Congress and Sonia ji but I will always follow Jagan.” She added, “If the party initiates disciplinary action, we’re prepared.”

Jagan was crisp and clear in delivering the message to the nation that we Telugu people are symbols of self respect and value pride and integrity. Brought whole nation to pay attention to the events at Jantar Mantar. A young defiant leader taking on so called (just perceived) mighty high command. While Sonia and Co scrambling to get a sense of what is happening about congress party leaders who were making scathing remarks against AP state govt and central govt thus denting and exposing the injustice meted out to Krishna river basin farmers in AP by Brajesh kumar tribunal.
The adventure of taking farmers and leaders in the bone chilling weather of Delhi, shows the character of the leader who took this expedition. High command to low command whipping up carrot and sticks just to stop the legislative leadership to participate in the genuine and justifiable cause in Delhi went into begging and the leaders who followed have proved to be brave enough to make statement that issues are paramount and they are higher than the so called undemocratic and slavery infested high command.
While inaction seem to be a best option for Sonia at this moment but this political posture has significantly eroded the base in congress party in AP. Rampant corruption and lack of leadership to deal with day to day problems of country pushing congress party into a cesspool. Congress party will have to bask in those glory days where leaders like YSR set the bar high in governance and leadership and was the compass to so called national leaders.
The ability of a leader is measured no by his leadership and oratory skills rather it should be also combine with the ability to identify leaders. Mutually respecting leadership with loyal followers or shall we say bells and whistles of a party should alway reflect the common man needs and react accordingly. Time and again Jagan is proving to be a matured politician both in action and strategy. Innovation and opening up heart and energy to deal with common man problems are the mantra for a leader to become a great one.
The issue of AP farmers are not happy, in spite of national media sugar coat about lion share allocation of surplus water, about Krishna water tribunal verdict was brought to Delhi and to the nation. This was one of those two birds with one shot scenarios and was executed with precision. Kudos to Jagan and his team of leaders who pulled through a successful event.

Am immensely boiled at the moment wanting to give my best for Jagan. Especially after watching DL ravinders talk yesterday. Oh My God. Feel like throwing his body to the dogs. For a moment if the truth is that congress has come to power becoz of Sonia, Then Why the hell is she not opened her mouth all these days while our state has respected her and voted for her. Is she dumb. Is the Prime minister Dumb. What kind of PM do we have who doest react what so ever happens in a state ruled by his own bloody party. How dumb,stupid and foolish can a government ever be. What are they doing. Sitting in AC rooms in 10 janpath while our state here is fighting becoz of their brainless decisions. Not even a word uttered till now. Wow we understand how important our state is for Sonia. It is definitely time for us to unite for self-respect as Jagan said and stand by him whatsoever.

Jan. 11: The Alur legislator, Ms Patil Neeraja Reddy, who kept people guessing for a long time, finally came out in the open when she took part in Jala Deeksha, a one-day protest demanding redressal in the Krishna Water Tribunal verdict, taken up by the Kadapa former MP, Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, in Delhi on Tuesday.
A first-time elect to the Assembly from Alur, Ms Neeraja had never disclosed her willingness to join Jagan’s camp. The Congress cadre in the district were certain that she would continue in the party. With Ms Neeraja’s arrival into Jagan’s camp, the number of legislators from the district has gone upto six.
They include Congress MLAs, Mr Labbi Venkataswamy of Nandikotkur and Mr Silpa Mohan Reddy of Nandyal, apart from Ms Neeraja Reddy, Praja Rajyam MLAs, Ms Sobha Nagireddy of Allagadda and Mr Katasani Rami Reddy of Banaganpalli and Telugu Desam legislator, Mr Balanagi Reddy of Mantralayam.
Another Congress legislator from the district, Mr Katasani Rambhoopal Reddy, has also taken part in the Delhi protest with his followers. However, he did not say anything about his plans of joining the Jagan camp.
Meanwhile, speculations were rife that two more MLAs of the Congress and a former minister of the Telugu Desam from the district may come under the umbrella of Mr Jagan very soon.

I’m sure there are few already registered partied bearing YSR tag. I think it boils down to merging with some pre-existing party if the first application is declined. If I remember they have already got hold of YSR congress party president who is ready to pass over the mantle.

I think the strategy of second registration is similar to dummy candidates in elections to ensure they get proper symbol. Parites can be dissolved or merged transferring their assets to a new entity. We need not bother much.
