హైదరాబాద్, న్యూస్‌లైన్: త్వరలో జరుగనున్న ఉప ఎన్నికల్లో గెలవలేమన్న నిరాశా నిసృ్పహలతో టీడీపీ అధినేత ఎన్.చంద్రబాబునాయుడు, ఆయన వందిమాగధులు పనిగట్టుకుని వైఎస్సార్ కాంగ్రెస్ అధ్యక్షుడు వై.ఎస్.జగన్‌మోహన్ రెడ్డిపై బురద జల్లడమే పనిగా పెట్టుకున్నారని, కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీలో కూడా కొందరు నాయకులు అదే పాట పాడుతున్నారని పార్టీ అధికార ప్రతినిధి, కేంద్ర కార్యనిర్వాహక మండలి సభ్యుడు అంబటి రాంబాబు ధ్వజమెత్తారు. ఆయన గురువారం పార్టీ కేంద్ర కార్యాలయంలో జరిగిన విలేకరుల సమావేశంలో మాట్లాడుతూ జగన్‌కు సూరి హత్యతో సంబంధం ఉందని చంద్రబాబు, ఆయన పార్టీ నాయకులు చెప్పడం పట్ల తీవ్ర ఆగ్రహం వ్యక్తం చేశారు.

‘విజయవాడలో జరిగిన వంగవీటి రంగా హత్య వెనుక చంద్రబాబు హస్తం ఉందని ఆరోపణలు వచ్చాయి. మల్లెల బాబ్జీని చంపించింది కూడా బాబేనని అప్పట్లో ప్రచారం జరిగింది. ఎన్టీఆర్‌కు కార్యదర్శిగా వ్యవహరించిన రాఘవేంద్రరావు రోడ్డు ప్రమాదంలో మరణించిన సంఘటన వెనుక కూడా ఆయన హస్తమే ఉందనే అనుమానాలు వ్యక్తం అయ్యాయి. అంతెందుకు హోంమంత్రిగా ఉండిన ఎలిమినేటి మాధవరెడ్డిని చంపించింది కూడా బాబేనన్న ఆరోపణలు వచ్చాయి. వాటిలో నిజం ఉందా లేదా అనేది తరువాత సంగతి, ఎపుడైనా ఈ ఆరోపణలపై చంద్రబాబు విచారణకు సిద్ధపడ్డారా? అని అంబటి సూటిగా ప్రశ్నించారు. తాజాగా సూరి భార్య భానుమతి తన భర్త హత్య వెనుక చంద్రబాబు హస్తం ఉందని ఆరోపించిది, గతంలో రంగా భార్య కూడా ఇదే విధమైన ఆరోపణలు చేసింది, మరి ఆయనపై కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వం ఎందుకు విచారణ జరుపదని ఆయన అన్నారు.

న్యూఢిల్లీ, ఏప్రిల్ 23: హైకోర్టు న్యాయమూర్తిగా పదవీ బాధ్యతలు నిర్వహిస్తున్న ఎన్‌వి రమణను బాధ్యతల నుంచి తక్షణమే తప్పించవలసిందిగా కోరుతూ రాష్ట్ర హైకోర్టు న్యాయవాది ఒకరు సుప్రీంకోర్టులో పిటిషన్ దాఖలు చేశారు. ఆయనపై నమోదైన ఒక క్రిమినల్ కేసుకు సంబంధించిన సమాచారాన్ని తొక్కిపెట్టి రమణ హైకోర్టు న్యాయమూర్తిగా నియమితులయ్యారని సాక్ష్యాధారాలతో హైకోర్టు న్యాయవాదిగా పని చేస్తున్న మనోహర్‌రెడ్డి పిటిషన్ దాఖలు చేశారు.

Tirupati abuzz as bypoll nears Ruling Party, However, Is Yet To Name Its Candidate TIMES NEWS NETWORK
Tirupati: Ever since Chiranjeevi vacated the Tirupati assembly seat to become a Rajya Sabha member, the temple town is witnessing a flurry of political activity. While TDP has decided to field senior leader Chadalavada Krishnamurthy as its candidate for the high-profile by-election, former TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy is all set to enter the fray on behalf of YSR Congress. It is only Congress which is lagging behind in the race to announce a candidate.
If sources are to be believed, Congress could field former MLA M Venkata Ramana. Though mines minister Galla Aruna Kumari left no stone unturned to get the ticket for her industrialist-son Galla Jayadev, the Congress leadership might go with a candidate chosen by Chiranjeevi, sources said. Chiranjeevi had recommended the name of Ramana and an official announcement in this regard is expected in a day or two. Rumours were rife that one of the family members of Chiranjeevi could enter the fray but the star politician himself denied any such move.
Insiders in Chiranjeevi camp said the MP-elect was persuaded by his former PRP leaders that he should take the lead in suggesting a candidate from the majority Balija community, with whose support he had won the 2009 election. Ramana is a Balija and has a sizeable following among the community. “Chiranjeevi was convinced that he cannot afford to fritter away the advantage and lose the seat permanently. Hence, he opted for Ramana to get the Balija votes,” an insider said.
Sources said TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is also eyeing the majority Balija vote in the constituency and hence, plumped for Krishnamurthy, who also hails from the Balija community. Krishnamurthy once represented the Tirupati seat and the Kamma lobby has reportedly asked Naidu to bring the seat back to its fold. “The seat went to PRP and not to Congress. Since there is no PRP now, TDP will go all-out to bag the coveted seat,” a senior party functionary said.
The constituency has about 40,000 Balija votes, 36,000 Reddys, 22,000 Yadavas and another 18,000 from Kamma community. “If Balija candidates are in the fray from both the TDP and Congress, it would lead to a division in the community votebank which should be advantageous to us,” a local leader of YSR Congress Party observed.
Karunakar Reddy, who lost the election to Chiranjeevi with a margin of 10,000 votes last time, is fancying his chances this time around. He is already touring the constituency and vigorously campaigning against Chiranjeevi for neglecting the constituency on all fronts. “The water crisis in the temple town is grave. But Chiranjeevi was camping all the time in Hyderabad,” he said during a recent public meeting.
Hyderabad: Kodali Nani, MLA from Gudivada constituency in Krishna district, reportedly had a prolonged meeting with Vangaveeti Radha at Vijayawada on Friday night on his way to Hyderabad. The consultations went on till wee hours on Saturday. According to reliable sources, the two young leaders were together till 2.30 am. Nani is understood to have been actively considering a proposal to join YSR Congress Party.
There is a lot of pressure from his followers who expect the YSRCP to sweep the polls in that part of the State whenever elections are held. Besides Nani, Telugu Desam Party leaders like Vallabhaneni Vamsi are also being talked to by leaders of YSRCP. Yalamanchili Ravi, MLA from Kankipadu constituency in Krishna district, also being sounded.
Vangaveeti Radha, who lost 2009 elections as a candidate of Praja Rajyam Party(PRP), is planning to join YSRCP on the 27th in the presence of the party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy. About 10 corporators of Vijayawada are expected to follow Radha into YSRCP. A public meeting is being planned on that day at the residence of Radha as a culmination of a big road-show.
It is understood that Nani had hinted to film actor and campaigner for the TDP, Junior NTR, his mentor, that there is pressure from the people of his constituency to contest on YSRCP next time as that is seen as the winning party. Junior NTR had reportedly counseled patience saying that sooner or later, the TDP has to depend on his charisma and give important role in which case Nani would be in a better position.
Nani did not seem fully convinced with that argument. Vamsi, who contested to Lok Sabha from Vijayawada as a TDP candidate in 2009, has been toying with the idea of jumping into Jagan’s bandwagon. He has been studying the pros and cons.
To counter Radha’s moves, Nagababu, Chiranjeevi’s younger brother, is likely to hold a meeting at Vijayawada on May 1st to persuade leaders of erstwhile PRP not to leave the Congress.

మధ్యప్రదేశ్, బీహార్, తమిళనాడు వంటి అనేక ఇతర రాష్ట్రాలలాగే ఉత్తరప్రదేశ్ ఒకప్పుడు కాంగ్రెసుకు కంచుకోట. అక్కడ చివరిసారిగా 23 ఏళ్ల కింద జారిపోయిన అధికారం మళ్లీ ఆ పార్టీ చేతికందితే ఒట్టు! కాంగ్రెసు నేతల నిర్వాహకం, అధిష్ఠానపు అద్భుత వ్యూహచాతుర్యం ఇప్పటిలాగే సాగితే మునుముందు ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ పరిస్థితీ అంతే!
2009లో అసెంబ్లీ సాధారణ ఎన్నికల తరవాత అసెంబ్లీకి జరిగిన 21 ఉప ఎన్నికల్లో రూలింగు పార్టీ, ప్రధాన ప్రతిపక్షం రెండూ ఘోరాతిఘోరంగా పరాభవం పాలయ్యాయి. అనేకచోట్ల ధరావతు మొత్తాలను కూడా వీరోచితంగా కోల్పోయాయి. మూడో పార్టీ దేన్నీ పైకి రానియ్యకుండా తొక్కెయ్యటానికి ఇరుపక్షాలూ లోపాయికారీ లాలూచీలు, చీకటిమాటు మాచ్‌ఫిక్సింగులు ఎన్ని చేసుకున్నా, ఎన్నికల వైతరణిని దాటటం ఏ పార్టీ వల్లా కావటం లేదు. ఎన్నికల్లో పోటీపడ్డా అధికారం దక్కించుకోవటం ఎలాగూ తమవల్ల అయ్యేట్టు లేదు కనుక, ఎట్టి పరిస్థితుల్లోనూ అధికారం మళ్లీ తమకు దక్కకుండా చేసుకోవటంలో కాంగ్రెసు, దేశం శాయశక్తులా పోటీపడుతున్నాయి.
ఏమాటకామాటే చెప్పుకోవాలి. ఈ విషయంలో మాత్రం కాంగ్రెసువారే చాలా ఫాస్టు!
రాష్ట్రంలో కాంగ్రెసు రథానికి ముఖ్యమంత్రి ఒక చక్రమైతే, పి.సి.సి. బాసు రెండో చక్రం. సరైన సమర్థులను ఆ స్థానాల్లో కూచోబెట్టి ఇద్దరికీ శ్రుతి కలిసేలా చూస్తే తప్ప బండి తిన్నగా నడవదు. ఏ బాధ్యతకు ఎవరు తగరో వారిని మాత్రమే కష్టపడి వెతికి ఏరికోరి ఎంపిక చెయ్యటం కాంగ్రెసు ప్రభువుల ప్రత్యేకత. మూడేళ్లలో మూడో కృష్ణుడిగా రంగస్థలమెక్కిన పెద్ద మనిషికి పరిపాలన బొత్తిగా కొత్త. తన కేబినెటులోని చాలామంది సీనియర్లు మొదటిసారి ఎమ్మెల్యేనో, మినిస్టరో అయిన సమయాన ఇతగాడు కాలేజీలో క్రికెటు ఆడుతూండవచ్చు. తన కొలువులో ఎంతమంది అనుభవజ్ఞులు ఉన్నా ఏదీ ఎవరితో చర్చించడు. ఎవరు చెప్పినా వినడు. ఎవరినీ నమ్మడు. కాబట్టి అతడినీ ఎవరూ నమ్మరు. 294 స్థానాలున్న అసెంబ్లీలో ముఖ్యమంత్రికి గ్యారంటీగా పడుతుందని చెప్పగలిగింది ఒకే ఒక్క ఓటు. అది ఆయనదే.
ఎంత పవరు చేతిలో ఉన్నా ఇంత ఒంటరి ఎందుకయ్యాను, ఇన్ని సమస్యలు ఎందుకు చుట్టుముట్టాయి అని ఆలోచించగా చించగా కి.కు.రెడ్డికి స్ఫురించిన అసలు కారణం ఒకే ఒకటి: తన టైము బాగాలేదు! తన ప్రమాణ స్వీకారానికి పంతులుగారు పెట్టిన ముహూర్తం సరిగా లేదు, అనగా – ఈయన అట్టర్‌ఫ్లాప్ అయిన నేరానికి ఉరి తీయాల్సింది ముహూర్తం పెట్టిన పంతులుని!
సరే! జరిగిపోయిన ముహూర్తాన్ని ఎవరూ ఏమీ చెయ్యలేరు. మరి ఇప్పుడు చేయవలసిందేమిటి? మహారాజశ్రీ ముఖ్యమంత్రిగారు తన అద్భుత మేధనంతా రంగరించి చాలా సీరియస్‌గా యోచిస్తే అత్యద్భుతమైన తరణోపాయం తట్టింది. వెంఠనే దాన్ని అమల్లో పెట్టేశారు. ఏమిటది? జనాన్ని ఆకట్టుకునే కొత్త పథకమా? ప్రభుత్వ ప్రతిష్ఠను అమాంతం పెంచేసే అద్భుత వ్యూహమా? కాదు. తాను కూచునే కుర్చీని వాస్తు ప్రకారం వేరేచోటికి జరిపించారు. కుర్చీ దిశమారితే పార్టీ దశమారుతుందని కి.కు.రెడ్డి గారికి గట్టి నమ్మకం.
ఇక ముఠా నాయకుడికీ, పార్టీ లీడరుకూ తేడా తెలియని లిక్కర్ డాన్ పి.సి.సి. పెద్దబాబు సరేసరి! ముఖ్యమంత్రి కాళ్లకింద మంట పెట్టేలా మీడియాకు లీకులిస్తూ, గిట్టని మీడియావాళ్లను తిట్టిపోస్తూ, తక్కువకాలంలో ఎక్కువ మందిని శత్రువులను చేసుకునే విద్యలో ముఖ్యమంత్రితో పోటీపడుతూ, పార్టీకి మిగిలిన కాస్త పరువునూ గల్లంతు చెయ్యటంతో సత్తిబాబుకు సత్తిబాబే సాటి!
రాష్ట్రంలో ఉండే రెండు పెద్దతలకాయలు ఒకరిమీద ఒకరు పితూరీలు చేస్తూ కీచులాటల్లో మునిగి తేలుతూంటే వారిపైన ఉండే ఢిల్లీ పెద్దలు ఏమి చేస్తున్నారు? ఒకరిమీద ఒకరికి ఉన్న అపనమ్మకాన్ని తొలగించి ఇకనైనా కలిసి ముందుకు నడిచేట్టు చేశారా? అది అయ్యేపని కాదనుకుంటే ఒకరినో, ఇద్దరినో మార్చి, ఉండనిచ్చే వాళ్లలో భద్రతాభావం పెంచి పార్టీకీ, ప్రభుత్వానికీ కాస్త స్థిరత్వం కలిగించారా? లేదు. ఇద్దరిమీదా రహస్య విచారణకు ఒకరి తరవాత ఒకరుగా పరిశీలకులను వదులుతున్నారు. మొన్న తెలంగాణలోలాగే రేపు సీమాంధ్ర ఉప ఎన్నికల్లోనూ పార్టీకి శృంగభంగం తప్పేట్టు లేదు. ఇప్పటికిప్పుడు పందెం గుర్రాలను మార్చినా లాభం ఉండదు. ఎలాగూ తప్పని పరాభవానికి కొత్త నాయకులను కొరతవేయనూ లేరు. కొనసాగించనూ లేరు. కాబట్టి ప్రస్తుతానికి పాతవాళ్లతోనే లాగించి ఉప ఎన్నికల తరవాత ఒకేసారి తీసెయ్యవచ్చునని ప్లాను బాగానే వేశారు. ఎన్నికలు జరిగే 18 అసెంబ్లీ స్థానాల్లో కనీసం మూడైనా గెలవకపోతే మీ పని ఖాళీ అని ఇద్దరు ముఖ్యులకూ ఇన్‌డైరెక్టుగా చెప్పేశారు.
బాగుంది. కాని ఆఖరి అవకాశం ఇచాక, దాన్ని వాడుకుని కుర్చీ కాపాడుకునేందుకు వారికి కనీస స్వేచ్ఛను మిగిల్చారా? అదీ లేదు. ఉప ఎన్నికల కాంపెయిను మొత్తాన్నీ ఢిల్లీ పెద్దలే నేరుగా తమ చేతుల్లోకి తీసుకున్నారు. మూడు నియోజకవర్గాలకు ఒకరు చొప్పున ఆ ప్రాంతంలో ముక్కూమొగం ఎరుగని బయటి రాష్ట్రాల పరిశీలకులను సూపర్ బాసులుగా దిగుమతి చేయనున్నారు. ఇక్కడి సంగతి సందర్భాలు ఏమీ తెలియని పెత్తందార్లకే ముఖ్యమంత్రి, పి.సి.సి. బాసు జీ హుజూర్ అని, వారి ఆదేశాల ప్రకారమే పని చేయవలసి ఉంటుంది.
ఎన్నికలు గెలవటంలో తమ నేర్పరితనాన్ని మొన్ననే ఉత్తరప్రదేశ్‌లో అద్భుతంగా లోకానికి చాటిన అధినాయకత్వం రేపు ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ ఉప ఎన్నికల్లోనూ తమ పనివాడి తనాన్ని నేరుగా చూపించదలిస్తే మంచిదే. యు.పి.లాగే కర్మంచాలక ఇక్కడా మట్టికరిస్తేనో? బయటినుంచి వచ్చిన పరిశీలక గుత్తేదార్లు, వారిని నడిపించిన హైకమాండు పెత్తందార్లు బాధ్యత వహిస్తారా?
లేదు. తాము డమీలుగా చేసిన ముఖ్యమంత్రిని, పి.సి.సి. పెద్దను బలిపీఠం ఎక్కిస్తారు! బొమ్మపడితే అధిష్ఠానం గెలుస్తుంది. బొరుసుపడితే ఇక్కడి ఇద్దరికీ మూడుతుంది. నాలుగో కృష్ణుడికి తెరలేస్తుంది.
కాకినాడ, ఏప్రిల్ 20: ‘కెఎస్‌ఇజడ్ ఏర్పాటుకు ముందుగా ప్రతిపాదనలు తీసుకొచ్చింది మీరే కదా’ అంటూ టిడిపి అధినేత చంద్రబాబును సెజ్ ప్రాంతానికి చెందిన కొందరు నిలదీశారు. కెఎస్‌ఇజడ్ ప్రాంతంలో శుక్రవారం రైతులకు మద్దతుగా పర్యటించిన టిడిపి అధినేత చంద్రబాబు స్థానికుల నుంచి వచ్చిన ఈ ప్రశ్నకు ఆగ్రహం వ్యక్తం చేశారు. యు కొత్తపల్లి మండలం రమణక్కపేట గ్రామంలో శుక్రవారం సాయంత్రం సెజ్ బాధిత రైతులు నిర్వహించిన ఏరువాక కార్యక్రమానికి బాబు హాజరయ్యారు. ఈ సమయంలో కొందరు స్థానికులు మాట్లాడుతూ ‘2002లో మీరే కదా ఎస్‌ఇజడ్ ఏర్పాటుకు ప్రతిపాదనలు తీసుకొచ్చారు?’ అంటూ నిలదీశారు. ఈ మాటలు వినగానే చంద్రబాబు వారిపై తీవ్ర అసహనం వ్యక్తం చేశారు. ‘మిమ్మల్ని ఎవరు పంపించారో నాకు తెలుసు. వేళాకోళంగా ఉందా?’ అంటూ గద్దించారు. వాస్తవాలు తెలుసుకోకుండా మాట్లాడొద్దని వారించారు. అంతకుముందు కాకినాడలో జరిగిన సదస్సులో తనపై ఒక పత్రిక, ఒక ఛానల్ పనిగట్టుకుని తప్పుడు కథనాలు ప్రసారం చేస్తున్నాయని దుయ్యబట్టారు. సెజ్‌కు తానే నాంది పలికానంటూ అర్ధంపర్ధంలేని అసత్య కథనాలను ఆ మీడియా సంస్థ ప్రచారం చేస్తోందని, దొంగే దొంగ దొంగ అన్న చందాన సదరు

What is worrying about this survey is that it somewhat consistent with the ABN survey. It has identified more or less the same constituencies as winning seats for TDP and Congress. We seem to be way behind in Rayadurgam as both surveys show TDP having a big lead.
I noticed that in Vaartha survey Nellore LS had a total sample of 2500 and Udayagiri had a sample of 1200. If this means that the other six segments together had a sample of 1300 and Udayagiri alone had 1200, then our vote share may have been exaggerated a little because Udayagiri is a stronghold of Mekapati brothers. Also, when the survey was done, TSR’s candidature may not have been announced. TSR will use his money power to the fullest extent to impress the high command and regain his lost ministry in the union government. We can’t take Nellore LS lightly.
I am sure that Sample is not random and i would suggest you not to take this into consideration because they haven’t check it for extent of randomness in the respondent profile but considered all the respondents.
It is through a ballot kept at major locations in these constituencies and i doubt administrative aspects of it like double voting/influences..
@Karthik sir,you might be right in the aspects that both AJ and VARTHAA SURVEY shows defeat in the same constituencies which means either both have biasedness in their sample or we might have a setback in those constituencies.
I am not expecting to win all the 18 constituencies but atleast 12-14 which itself is sufficient at this point for us.But,i expect Jagan to clear his views regarding Parakal constituency
There is no chance for TSR to even come close to Mekapati garu.
Although TSR is from Nellore he always contested from Vizag.
So Nellore people are not that familiar with that guy.
Coming to money factor we have seen what role it played in Kovvur.
It might reduce the majority but not win the race.
If that was the case Magunta family has money and fame in Nellore but was reluctant to contest . The reason is they know that Mekapati will win.
Regarding MLA seats ..we will win all . May be the majority might be less in few. But then we cannot ignore that the opposition parties are 100 year old and 30 yr old so people will take sometime to forget them !!!
NLR garu – I kow that Mekapati brothers are very strong. I was only worried that TSR has a lot at stake and he would try to win by hook or crook to get his central ministry back. I am not expecting him to win but we can’t be complacent.
Regarding the assembly seats, it would be awesome if we win all the seats but quite frankly that seems very unlikely. Parkal and Rayadurgam almost seem to be ruled out. In Parkal it is our party’s mistake of not focusing on Telangana that is costing us. Every party contested in Mahboobnagar but our party did not. Jagan did not even tour Telangana much.
Overall, I think if we win 13 seats as predicted by Vaartha survey that would be a decent show. More than 13 would be a big boost for us and a big blow to the other two main parties. But, Telangana would still be a worrying factor for 2014. We should aim to win at least 20 odd seats in T.
Do not believe the surveys of congress and TDP papers they are trying to create confusion in the minds of people… every election post the death of YSR they created similar surveys and the end results every one knows….so just relax and see the results… we will win all….many of my friends are in different places of the world are planning to go back to cast their votes simply to show the solidarity with YSR….you can imagine the common man in AP, how can he lose this opportunity to teach a lesson to Cong and TDP?

The reason why I said “expected lines” is because High Court cancelled all the bails that CBI court issued, and somehow all these cancellation bail petitions end up with the same high court bench chaired by KC Bhanu.
I am confident that we will win all the 18. People have already made up their mind to vote for YSRCP . Saying that we should take each election seriously. We will win the Ongole seat with a good margin.

India is a country suffering from severe lack of young and dynamic leaders. The emergence of youngsters like Akhilesh Yadav, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Sachin Pilot is a good sign though. And one such leader is emerging in Andhra Pradesh too. He is Y S Jagan.
However, few sources are raising concern that Jagan must have strong security when he is out on his Odarpu yatra. Apparently, few sympathisers of the opposition parties are growing insecure over the increasing following for Jagan. This is making them plan for certain anti-social activities to hamper Jagan.
As such, the young leader has very tough ring of protection but he is vulnerable when he goes to Odarpu Yatras. Given the strong opposition to his rise and the expectations people have from him, it is time Jagan focuses on his security.

Tirupati: Ever since Chiranjeevi vacated the Tirupati assembly seat to become a Rajya Sabha member, the temple town is witnessing a flurry of political activity. While TDP has decided to field senior leader Chadalavada Krishnamurthy as its candidate for the high-profile by-election, former TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy is all set to enter the fray on behalf of YSR Congress. It is only Congress which is lagging behind in the race to announce a candidate.
If sources are to be believed, Congress could field former MLA M Venkata Ramana. Though mines minister Galla Aruna Kumari left no stone unturned to get the ticket for her industrialist-son Galla Jayadev, the Congress leadership might go with a candidate chosen by Chiranjeevi, sources said. Chiranjeevi had recommended the name of Ramana and an official announcement in this regard is expected in a day or two. Rumours were rife that one of the family members of Chiranjeevi could enter the fray but the star politician himself denied any such move.
Insiders in Chiranjeevi camp said the MP-elect was persuaded by his former PRP leaders that he should take the lead in suggesting a candidate from the majority Balija community, with whose support he had won the 2009 election. Ramana is a Balija and has a sizeable following among the community. “Chiranjeevi was convinced that he cannot afford to fritter away the advantage and lose the seat permanently. Hence, he opted for Ramana to get the Balija votes,” an insider said.
Sources said TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is also eyeing the majority Balija vote in the constituency and hence, plumped for Krishnamurthy, who also hails from the Balija community. Krishnamurthy once represented the Tirupati seat and the Kamma lobby has reportedly asked Naidu to bring the seat back to its fold. “The seat went to PRP and not to Congress. Since there is no PRP now, TDP will go all-out to bag the coveted seat,” a senior party functionary said.
The constituency has about 40,000 Balija votes, 36,000 Reddys, 22,000 Yadavas and another 18,000 from Kamma community. “If Balija candidates are in the fray from both the TDP and Congress, it would lead to a division in the community votebank which should be advantageous to us,” a local leader of YSR Congress Party observed.
Karunakar Reddy, who lost the election to Chiranjeevi with a margin of 10,000 votes last time, is fancying his chances this time around. He is already touring the constituency and vigorously campaigning against Chiranjeevi for neglecting the constituency on all fronts. “The water crisis in the temple town is grave. But Chiranjeevi was camping all the time in Hyderabad,” he said during a recent public meeting.

Hyderabad: Kodali Nani, MLA from Gudivada constituency in Krishna district, reportedly had a prolonged meeting with Vangaveeti Radha at Vijayawada on Friday night on his way to Hyderabad. The consultations went on till wee hours on Saturday. According to reliable sources, the two young leaders were together till 2.30 am. Nani is understood to have been actively considering a proposal to join YSR Congress Party.
There is a lot of pressure from his followers who expect the YSRCP to sweep the polls in that part of the State whenever elections are held. Besides Nani, Telugu Desam Party leaders like Vallabhaneni Vamsi are also being talked to by leaders of YSRCP. Yalamanchili Ravi, MLA from Kankipadu constituency in Krishna district, also being sounded.
Vangaveeti Radha, who lost 2009 elections as a candidate of Praja Rajyam Party(PRP), is planning to join YSRCP on the 27th in the presence of the party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy. About 10 corporators of Vijayawada are expected to follow Radha into YSRCP. A public meeting is being planned on that day at the residence of Radha as a culmination of a big road-show.
It is understood that Nani had hinted to film actor and campaigner for the TDP, Junior NTR, his mentor, that there is pressure from the people of his constituency to contest on YSRCP next time as that is seen as the winning party. Junior NTR had reportedly counseled patience saying that sooner or later, the TDP has to depend on his charisma and give important role in which case Nani would be in a better position.
Nani did not seem fully convinced with that argument. Vamsi, who contested to Lok Sabha from Vijayawada as a TDP candidate in 2009, has been toying with the idea of jumping into Jagan’s bandwagon. He has been studying the pros and cons.
To counter Radha’s moves, Nagababu, Chiranjeevi’s younger brother, is likely to hold a meeting at Vijayawada on May 1st to persuade leaders of erstwhile PRP not to leave the Congress.

మధ్యప్రదేశ్, బీహార్, తమిళనాడు వంటి అనేక ఇతర రాష్ట్రాలలాగే ఉత్తరప్రదేశ్ ఒకప్పుడు కాంగ్రెసుకు కంచుకోట. అక్కడ చివరిసారిగా 23 ఏళ్ల కింద జారిపోయిన అధికారం మళ్లీ ఆ పార్టీ చేతికందితే ఒట్టు! కాంగ్రెసు నేతల నిర్వాహకం, అధిష్ఠానపు అద్భుత వ్యూహచాతుర్యం ఇప్పటిలాగే సాగితే మునుముందు ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ పరిస్థితీ అంతే!
2009లో అసెంబ్లీ సాధారణ ఎన్నికల తరవాత అసెంబ్లీకి జరిగిన 21 ఉప ఎన్నికల్లో రూలింగు పార్టీ, ప్రధాన ప్రతిపక్షం రెండూ ఘోరాతిఘోరంగా పరాభవం పాలయ్యాయి. అనేకచోట్ల ధరావతు మొత్తాలను కూడా వీరోచితంగా కోల్పోయాయి. మూడో పార్టీ దేన్నీ పైకి రానియ్యకుండా తొక్కెయ్యటానికి ఇరుపక్షాలూ లోపాయికారీ లాలూచీలు, చీకటిమాటు మాచ్‌ఫిక్సింగులు ఎన్ని చేసుకున్నా, ఎన్నికల వైతరణిని దాటటం ఏ పార్టీ వల్లా కావటం లేదు. ఎన్నికల్లో పోటీపడ్డా అధికారం దక్కించుకోవటం ఎలాగూ తమవల్ల అయ్యేట్టు లేదు కనుక, ఎట్టి పరిస్థితుల్లోనూ అధికారం మళ్లీ తమకు దక్కకుండా చేసుకోవటంలో కాంగ్రెసు, దేశం శాయశక్తులా పోటీపడుతున్నాయి.
ఏమాటకామాటే చెప్పుకోవాలి. ఈ విషయంలో మాత్రం కాంగ్రెసువారే చాలా ఫాస్టు!
రాష్ట్రంలో కాంగ్రెసు రథానికి ముఖ్యమంత్రి ఒక చక్రమైతే, పి.సి.సి. బాసు రెండో చక్రం. సరైన సమర్థులను ఆ స్థానాల్లో కూచోబెట్టి ఇద్దరికీ శ్రుతి కలిసేలా చూస్తే తప్ప బండి తిన్నగా నడవదు. ఏ బాధ్యతకు ఎవరు తగరో వారిని మాత్రమే కష్టపడి వెతికి ఏరికోరి ఎంపిక చెయ్యటం కాంగ్రెసు ప్రభువుల ప్రత్యేకత. మూడేళ్లలో మూడో కృష్ణుడిగా రంగస్థలమెక్కిన పెద్ద మనిషికి పరిపాలన బొత్తిగా కొత్త. తన కేబినెటులోని చాలామంది సీనియర్లు మొదటిసారి ఎమ్మెల్యేనో, మినిస్టరో అయిన సమయాన ఇతగాడు కాలేజీలో క్రికెటు ఆడుతూండవచ్చు. తన కొలువులో ఎంతమంది అనుభవజ్ఞులు ఉన్నా ఏదీ ఎవరితో చర్చించడు. ఎవరు చెప్పినా వినడు. ఎవరినీ నమ్మడు. కాబట్టి అతడినీ ఎవరూ నమ్మరు. 294 స్థానాలున్న అసెంబ్లీలో ముఖ్యమంత్రికి గ్యారంటీగా పడుతుందని చెప్పగలిగింది ఒకే ఒక్క ఓటు. అది ఆయనదే.
ఎంత పవరు చేతిలో ఉన్నా ఇంత ఒంటరి ఎందుకయ్యాను, ఇన్ని సమస్యలు ఎందుకు చుట్టుముట్టాయి అని ఆలోచించగా చించగా కి.కు.రెడ్డికి స్ఫురించిన అసలు కారణం ఒకే ఒకటి: తన టైము బాగాలేదు! తన ప్రమాణ స్వీకారానికి పంతులుగారు పెట్టిన ముహూర్తం సరిగా లేదు, అనగా – ఈయన అట్టర్‌ఫ్లాప్ అయిన నేరానికి ఉరి తీయాల్సింది ముహూర్తం పెట్టిన పంతులుని!
సరే! జరిగిపోయిన ముహూర్తాన్ని ఎవరూ ఏమీ చెయ్యలేరు. మరి ఇప్పుడు చేయవలసిందేమిటి? మహారాజశ్రీ ముఖ్యమంత్రిగారు తన అద్భుత మేధనంతా రంగరించి చాలా సీరియస్‌గా యోచిస్తే అత్యద్భుతమైన తరణోపాయం తట్టింది. వెంఠనే దాన్ని అమల్లో పెట్టేశారు. ఏమిటది? జనాన్ని ఆకట్టుకునే కొత్త పథకమా? ప్రభుత్వ ప్రతిష్ఠను అమాంతం పెంచేసే అద్భుత వ్యూహమా? కాదు. తాను కూచునే కుర్చీని వాస్తు ప్రకారం వేరేచోటికి జరిపించారు. కుర్చీ దిశమారితే పార్టీ దశమారుతుందని కి.కు.రెడ్డి గారికి గట్టి నమ్మకం.
ఇక ముఠా నాయకుడికీ, పార్టీ లీడరుకూ తేడా తెలియని లిక్కర్ డాన్ పి.సి.సి. పెద్దబాబు సరేసరి! ముఖ్యమంత్రి కాళ్లకింద మంట పెట్టేలా మీడియాకు లీకులిస్తూ, గిట్టని మీడియావాళ్లను తిట్టిపోస్తూ, తక్కువకాలంలో ఎక్కువ మందిని శత్రువులను చేసుకునే విద్యలో ముఖ్యమంత్రితో పోటీపడుతూ, పార్టీకి మిగిలిన కాస్త పరువునూ గల్లంతు చెయ్యటంతో సత్తిబాబుకు సత్తిబాబే సాటి!
రాష్ట్రంలో ఉండే రెండు పెద్దతలకాయలు ఒకరిమీద ఒకరు పితూరీలు చేస్తూ కీచులాటల్లో మునిగి తేలుతూంటే వారిపైన ఉండే ఢిల్లీ పెద్దలు ఏమి చేస్తున్నారు? ఒకరిమీద ఒకరికి ఉన్న అపనమ్మకాన్ని తొలగించి ఇకనైనా కలిసి ముందుకు నడిచేట్టు చేశారా? అది అయ్యేపని కాదనుకుంటే ఒకరినో, ఇద్దరినో మార్చి, ఉండనిచ్చే వాళ్లలో భద్రతాభావం పెంచి పార్టీకీ, ప్రభుత్వానికీ కాస్త స్థిరత్వం కలిగించారా? లేదు. ఇద్దరిమీదా రహస్య విచారణకు ఒకరి తరవాత ఒకరుగా పరిశీలకులను వదులుతున్నారు. మొన్న తెలంగాణలోలాగే రేపు సీమాంధ్ర ఉప ఎన్నికల్లోనూ పార్టీకి శృంగభంగం తప్పేట్టు లేదు. ఇప్పటికిప్పుడు పందెం గుర్రాలను మార్చినా లాభం ఉండదు. ఎలాగూ తప్పని పరాభవానికి కొత్త నాయకులను కొరతవేయనూ లేరు. కొనసాగించనూ లేరు. కాబట్టి ప్రస్తుతానికి పాతవాళ్లతోనే లాగించి ఉప ఎన్నికల తరవాత ఒకేసారి తీసెయ్యవచ్చునని ప్లాను బాగానే వేశారు. ఎన్నికలు జరిగే 18 అసెంబ్లీ స్థానాల్లో కనీసం మూడైనా గెలవకపోతే మీ పని ఖాళీ అని ఇద్దరు ముఖ్యులకూ ఇన్‌డైరెక్టుగా చెప్పేశారు.
బాగుంది. కాని ఆఖరి అవకాశం ఇచాక, దాన్ని వాడుకుని కుర్చీ కాపాడుకునేందుకు వారికి కనీస స్వేచ్ఛను మిగిల్చారా? అదీ లేదు. ఉప ఎన్నికల కాంపెయిను మొత్తాన్నీ ఢిల్లీ పెద్దలే నేరుగా తమ చేతుల్లోకి తీసుకున్నారు. మూడు నియోజకవర్గాలకు ఒకరు చొప్పున ఆ ప్రాంతంలో ముక్కూమొగం ఎరుగని బయటి రాష్ట్రాల పరిశీలకులను సూపర్ బాసులుగా దిగుమతి చేయనున్నారు. ఇక్కడి సంగతి సందర్భాలు ఏమీ తెలియని పెత్తందార్లకే ముఖ్యమంత్రి, పి.సి.సి. బాసు జీ హుజూర్ అని, వారి ఆదేశాల ప్రకారమే పని చేయవలసి ఉంటుంది.
ఎన్నికలు గెలవటంలో తమ నేర్పరితనాన్ని మొన్ననే ఉత్తరప్రదేశ్‌లో అద్భుతంగా లోకానికి చాటిన అధినాయకత్వం రేపు ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ ఉప ఎన్నికల్లోనూ తమ పనివాడి తనాన్ని నేరుగా చూపించదలిస్తే మంచిదే. యు.పి.లాగే కర్మంచాలక ఇక్కడా మట్టికరిస్తేనో? బయటినుంచి వచ్చిన పరిశీలక గుత్తేదార్లు, వారిని నడిపించిన హైకమాండు పెత్తందార్లు బాధ్యత వహిస్తారా?
లేదు. తాము డమీలుగా చేసిన ముఖ్యమంత్రిని, పి.సి.సి. పెద్దను బలిపీఠం ఎక్కిస్తారు! బొమ్మపడితే అధిష్ఠానం గెలుస్తుంది. బొరుసుపడితే ఇక్కడి ఇద్దరికీ మూడుతుంది. నాలుగో కృష్ణుడికి తెరలేస్తుంది.

What is worrying about this survey is that it somewhat consistent with the ABN survey. It has identified more or less the same constituencies as winning seats for TDP and Congress. We seem to be way behind in Rayadurgam as both surveys show TDP having a big lead.
I noticed that in Vaartha survey Nellore LS had a total sample of 2500 and Udayagiri had a sample of 1200. If this means that the other six segments together had a sample of 1300 and Udayagiri alone had 1200, then our vote share may have been exaggerated a little because Udayagiri is a stronghold of Mekapati brothers. Also, when the survey was done, TSR’s candidature may not have been announced. TSR will use his money power to the fullest extent to impress the high command and regain his lost ministry in the union government. We can’t take Nellore LS lightly.
I am sure that Sample is not random and i would suggest you not to take this into consideration because they haven’t check it for extent of randomness in the respondent profile but considered all the respondents.
It is through a ballot kept at major locations in these constituencies and i doubt administrative aspects of it like double voting/influences..
@Karthik sir,you might be right in the aspects that both AJ and VARTHAA SURVEY shows defeat in the same constituencies which means either both have biasedness in their sample or we might have a setback in those constituencies.
I am not expecting to win all the 18 constituencies but atleast 12-14 which itself is sufficient at this point for us.But,i expect Jagan to clear his views regarding Parakal constituency

There is no chance for TSR to even come close to Mekapati garu.
Although TSR is from Nellore he always contested from Vizag.
So Nellore people are not that familiar with that guy.
Coming to money factor we have seen what role it played in Kovvur.
It might reduce the majority but not win the race.
If that was the case Magunta family has money and fame in Nellore but was reluctant to contest . The reason is they know that Mekapati will win.
Regarding MLA seats ..we will win all . May be the majority might be less in few. But then we cannot ignore that the opposition parties are 100 year old and 30 yr old so people will take sometime to forget them !!!
NLR garu – I kow that Mekapati brothers are very strong. I was only worried that TSR has a lot at stake and he would try to win by hook or crook to get his central ministry back. I am not expecting him to win but we can’t be complacent.
Regarding the assembly seats, it would be awesome if we win all the seats but quite frankly that seems very unlikely. Parkal and Rayadurgam almost seem to be ruled out. In Parkal it is our party’s mistake of not focusing on Telangana that is costing us. Every party contested in Mahboobnagar but our party did not. Jagan did not even tour Telangana much.
Overall, I think if we win 13 seats as predicted by Vaartha survey that would be a decent show. More than 13 would be a big boost for us and a big blow to the other two main parties. But, Telangana would still be a worrying factor for 2014. We should aim to win at least 20 odd seats in T.
Do not believe the surveys of congress and TDP papers they are trying to create confusion in the minds of people… every election post the death of YSR they created similar surveys and the end results every one knows….so just relax and see the results… we will win all….many of my friends are in different places of the world are planning to go back to cast their votes simply to show the solidarity with YSR….you can imagine the common man in AP, how can he lose this opportunity to teach a lesson to Cong and TDP?
