KVP praising YSR irks CM
Hyderabad: Congress leader and MP KVP Ramchandra Rao on Tuesday expressed his agony over the reprehensible situation in which not even a single portrait of the late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy could find a place either in Gandhi Bhavan or its Prakasam hall.
Addressing the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected president of the Youth Congress state unit, Vamshi Chand Reddy and other office bearers, he clarified that his observation was anyway not intended to find fault with anyone for this. But Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had been the source of strength for youth in the party and he should not be ignored at any cost.
A host of party leaders including the Chief Minister, N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who occupied the dais, had their quota of discomfort with the remarks of Ramchandra Rao as the Prakasam hall echoed to slogans “Rajasekhara Reddy Amar Rahe” for a while.
Resuming his address, KVP Ramchandra Rao said that Rajasekhara Reddy went on record in his last meeting in the same hall saying that his only life ambition was to see Rahul Gandhi as the next prime minister in 2014.
