HYDERABAD: In a clear deviation of land allotment procedure, the AP government has decided to allot 50 acres of prime land in Visakhapatnam to a private IT company at a throwaway price. While the market price of the land is above Rs 500 crore, the government has decided to give away the land for just Rs 25 crore! That this is a major violation is proved by the fact that even at the price fixed by the district collector and the chief commissioner of land administration, the cost of the land would be Rs 363 crore.
Madurawada in Visakhapatnam is a fast growing as the IT-hub of residuary Andhra Pradesh. It is here that the said land allotment has taken place. The AP cabinet chaired by chief minister Chandrababu Naidu has cleared the assignment of the 50 acres of land to the APIIC which is all set to transfer the land to private IT firm eCentric Solutions Private Limited, which is headquartered in Hyderabad.
The company is founded by a first generation entrepreneur Sridhar Raju Gadhi. Other investors in the company are Gadhi Venkata Shyamala, Annapurna and Rudraraju Vara Prasada Raju. Earlier, the company was engaged in Aadhaar enrolment in Chennai and was in the news when it and four other companies were found to have been involved in enrolling some 25,000 fake Aadhaar numbers. Interestingly, Visakhapatnam collector N Yuvraj in his letter dated October 10, 2015, had fixed the land price in survey no. 409, Madhurawada, at Rs 7.26 crore per acre. However, this was not agreed to by the private company management.
The matter was then referred to chief commissioner of land administration Anil Chandra Punetha, who upheld the price. Finally , the file was posted to AP Land Management Authority , which is supreme in finalizing the land price.
The APLMA upheld the decisions of the district administration and CCLA.Contesting this, the company approached `powers that be’ in the government which placed the matter before the cabinet at its meeting on November 2 in Vijayawada.
