YSR Congress plenary sees unexpected turnout
Vijayawada: Although the YSRC anticipated dignitaries from mandal level to attend for plenary, but the turnout of party cadre was beyond expectation.
The YSRC had expected around 30,000 delegates to the plenary. In this regard, it had invited persons who hold key responsibilities in every mandal. But to everyone’s surprise, the number doubled from the expectation for the programme. The participation is very aggressive from all the districts right from the Srikakulam to Anantapur. Though the plenary venue ground is very spacious, it was completely packed with the crowd.
As soon as YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy reached the podium, there was a tremendous response from the public and it continued until the end of the programme for the day. Activists encouraged leaders when they pointed out ruling TD’s attacks and harassment on YSRC leaders and the TD government’s corruption.
An activist, Mr Appala Naidu from Srikakulam district, shared the arrangements were good and one could not expect more than this from the opposition party. Vijayamma and Sharmila will address the plenary on Sunday and Jagan Mohan Reddy will mention key resolutions of padayatra and liquor policy.
Intel’s eye on plenary:
State intelligence officials attended the YSRC plenary in mufti in large numbers on Saturday. They were seen speaking to many leaders and the general public fishing for information. According to sources, around 10 intelligence officials of SI rank and others are seen at the programme gathering information. They even collected information about the onlookers, their opinion on arrangements for plenary and on ruling party. and their opposition to ruling governance on selective issues.
Generally, the department has an eagle eye on the opposition party’s activities, but it was much more pronounced in the YSRC plenary held on Saturday near Nagarjuna University. Atleast some people in AP have ethical values in life . They do not waste time thinking about caste and money.
