Hyderabad: YSR Congress leader Jaganmohan Reddy’s controversial visit to Tirumala took a turn on Thursday with former TTD chairman and Jagan follower Bhumana Karunakar Reddy claiming that the TTD had not approached the leader for the mandatory declaration expressing his faith in Lord Balaji.
Karunakar Reddy alleged that TTD executive officer LV Subramanyam was making a big issue out of nothing. “No official from TTD approached us for the signature on the declaration form,” he claimed. Curiously, on Wednesday he had said that Jagan need not have to sign the declaration form. The EO, however, said the TTD authorities did approach Jagan for the signature.
Reacting to the developments, endowments minister C Ramachandraiah said that they cannot take action against any person as the rules are not legally binding. Those who come to the temple must do so with devotion and not with any political intention, he said. Chief electoral officer Bhanwarlal, on his part, said they have sought a report from the authorities whether Jagan’s supporters shouted slogans atop Tirumala since the model code is in place in Tirupati.
Dismissing the charges, YSR Congress spokesperson Ambati Rambabu said that Jagan had visited the shrine earlier and the allegations were aimed at gaining political mileage ahead of the byelections. Asked about Jagan’s followers raising slogans on the temple premises, Rambabu claimed that the slogans were raised by some devotees standing in queues. “They were not part of Jagan’s entourage,” he said.

హైదరాబాద్: శ్రీవేంకటేశ్వర స్వామిపై విశ్వాసాన్ని వ్యక్తం చేస్తూ డిక్లరేషన్ ఇవ్వాలని సూచించడానికి టిటిడి అధికారులు ఎవరూ తమ పార్టీ అధ్యక్షుడు వైయస్ జగన్ వద్దకు రాలేదని వైయస్సార్ కాంగ్రెసు పార్టీ నాయకుడు భూమన కరుణాకర్ రెడ్డి చెప్పారు. తిరుమల వెంకటేశ్వర స్వామిని జగన్ దర్సించుకోవడంపై తలెత్తిన దుమారంపై ఆయన గురువారం ఆ వివరణ ఇచ్చారు. టిటిడి ఎగ్జిక్యూటివ్ అధికారి ఎల్వీ సుబ్రహ్మణ్యం అనవసరంగా పెద్ద సమస్య సృష్టిస్తున్నారని ఆయన విమర్శించారు. డిక్లరేషన్ ఫారంపై సంతకం చేయాలని తమను ఏ అధికారి కూడా అడగలేదని ఆయన చెప్పారు. తాము అడిగినా జగన్ డిక్లరేషన్ ఇవ్వలేదని ఎల్వీ సుబ్రహ్మణ్యం చేసిన ప్రకటనపై ఆయన మండిపడ్డారు.

కాగా, తాము ఎవరిపైనా చర్యలు తీసుకోలేమని, చర్యలు తీసుకోవడానికి న్యాయపరమైన నిబంధనలు లేవని దేవాదాయ శాఖ మంత్రి సి. రామచంద్రయ్య అన్నారు. ఆలయానికి వచ్చే వారు భక్తిని చాటుకోవడానికి ఆ విధంగా చేయాల్సిందే తప్ప రాజకీయ ఉద్దేశాలతో కాదని ఆయన అన్నారు. తిరుమలలో జగన్ అనుచరులు నినాదాలు చేశారా, లేదా అనే విషయంపై విచారణ జరుపుతున్నట్లు ప్రధాన ఎన్నికల అధికారి భన్వర్‌లాల్ చెప్పారు.

గోవిందనామాన్ని స్మరించడానికి బదులు వైయస్ జగన్ అనుచరులు జగన్ నామాన్ని స్మరించి తిరుమల పవిత్రతను దెబ్బ తీశారని తెలుగుదేశం నాయకుడు సోమిరెడ్డి చంద్రమోహన్ రెడ్డి అన్నారు. జగన్ వివాదంపై విచారణ జరిపించకపోతే తాను ఆలయం ముందు తాను మౌన దీక్ష చేస్తానని కాంగ్రెసు సీనియర్ నేత వి హనుమంతరావు చెప్పారు. క్రిస్టియన్ అయినందున జగన్ తప్పనిసరిగా డిక్లరేషన్ ఇవ్వాల్సి ఉండిందని ఆయన అన్నారు.

గతంలో కూడా వైయస్ జగన్ తిరుమల వెంకటేశ్వర స్వామిని దర్శించుకున్నారని, ఉప ఎన్నికల్లో ప్రయోజనం పొందడానికే జగన్ ఆలయ సందర్శనపై వివాదం సృష్టిస్తున్నారని వైయస్సార్ కాంగ్రెసు నాయకుడు అంబటి రాంబాబు అన్నారు. జగన్‌కు అనుకూలంగా క్యాలైన్లలో నిలబడిన కొంత మంది నినాదాలు చేసినట్లు ఆయన తెలిపారు. వారితో జగన్‌కు ఏ విధమైన సంబంధం లేదని ఆయన చెప్పారు.
